FEDERAL MODERN AWARDS

Applicable only to businesses covered by the FEDERAL system - i.e. those conducted via a company (Pty Ltd) structure

On 30th May 2019, the Fair Work Commission issued their decision for the 2018-2019 Annual Wage Review, awarding an increase of 3.0% to all minimum rates of pay under the Federal Modern Awards.  The National Minimum Wage was also increased by 3.0% (or $21.60 per week or 56 cents per hour) to a new figure of $740.80 per week, or $19.49 per hour.

The new Federal rate for C10 tradesperson will increase by $25.10 per week or 66 cents per hour.

The increase is to be effective from the first full pay period on or after 1st July 2019.

We will be posting new MTAWA Wage Schedules reflecting the new award rates of pay on the MTA WA web site on or before 30th June 2019.    The MTA WA new website commenced in December 2018. If you require your member login details, please contact membership at membership@mtawa.com.au  

It is to be understood that this decision does not affect the West Australian State Awards, which will be affected by a decision of the WA Industrial Relations Commission, yet to be issued, but will assume it be decided in the forthcoming week. Notification will be forwarded to those members.
