2024 APRAA Conference
Following a long break, the MTAA/APRAA industry conference was held last month on the Gold Coast. Around 150 recyclers from around Australia attended the event.
Feeback from attendees was that it was an excellent program that was well worth attending and that they are looking forward to the next one.
It was well organized, the location and accommodation was excellent and the networking opportunities were fantastic.
The program content was timely and really relevant to recyclers with a good contingent of overseas speakers who shared their knowledge and experience.
Topics included:
-
The changing face of Australia: Mega trends and how to use Strategic Alliances to unlock growth and navigate the landscape of recycled auto parts in Australia
-
Proven and game-changing ways to increase gross sales and net profits in an auto recycling business
-
How regulation impacts recyclers
-
The auto recycler of the future
-
End of life (ELV) vehicle project and how it impacts on the recycling industry
-
Tips on ways to thrive in tougher times and maximise profits
-
Mastering e-bay sales
It was great to have the Auto Recyclers Association of the USA represented by Sandy Blalock attend and share her insights on the future of the industry. Everyone left the conference feeling positive about the future of the industry especially now that they know what to focus their time and energy on and what to plan for going forward.
The ELV presentation showed the work that the MTAA and APRAA have been doing in representing the recycling industry and ensuring its best interests are maintained. It was a great opportunity for attendees to ask questions and seek clarification on the impact on their business on a day to day basis.
Overall attendees said that there was nothing that would make you think that the dismantling business was on the decline, in fact quite the opposite. However, you need to understand and know how to ensure you will be part of its future.
